Madson Heights (my first track) feedback welcomed
although for the life of me i cant figure out how to post the pictures of the track over the file size. or how to make that little popup screen with the stats. help there would be appreciated too.
anyway, my first attempt is this:
http://mtm2.com/~tracks/details.cgi?t=5016 select "Madson Heights"
textures from ZooN Spring by the godfather, ZooN. The models I got from here. contructive criticism welcome.

First time track? Well thumbs up PW, this is great. [tu]
I am no expert thats for sure however I had time for a quick drive on it tonight. I loved it, some nice tricky parts to keep you on the 'edge'! I have not had time to run it further or look for cuts (if any, they could be pretty tricky on this track I reckon).
I am no technical person either, as for appearance my thoughts are I would like to see rounded corners instead of the block square look on certain parts of the road and some texture blending to even out in the grass around and on the mountain areas, also on the road around cp 8. Maybe closer joining on the mtm billboard.
Btw what are the pretty yellow, orange, blue dots on the ground beside the road around the cp8/9 areas? Nice whatever they are.
Water is not too deep which is good (in the parts I umm 'fell' in anyway lol)
Line and control will give you good times on this one.
Kmaster... I think the word 'community' sums it up well, 'we give and share amongst each other in a common goal', that being keeping the game of MTM2 alive. Phin and Mal do the hard yards for starting/upkeep of the site and storing all information they can for years to come; then include Wint and D2S who help keep this site rolling; and also people likes Miyh, Cale, ch_2005. RepFan etc.

In the first picture here, you can see the seams between the textures. And there appears to have been enough room for a properly rounded corner as opposed to squared off corners.

In this picture, the transition from flat terrain to an incline is rather abrupt. This page http://cownap.com/~mtmg/traxx/altitude.html might offer some helpful tips.

There are a lot of places to go off the road on this track. It is good practice to provide a way back onto the road rather than ask a player to use the helicopter. Sure, sometimes that's not suitable or appropriate. But even when it's not, we want to beware of truck traps - that is, places a truck can fall into and not get back out of, even with the help of the helicopter.

thanks for the good points, but on the first picture, there was room for a curve but the only curve textures were 3 blocks wide, and i wanted at least one section to be a little narrower. and those seams are noticable, but theres only like 10 different rock textures to work with, and those mountains got pretty big, so i used a lot of them randomly and went with what i got. (i hope i dont sound like im making excuses lol) but good points i will bear in mind in the future, and thanks for your time.
and by the way, i want to see your replay you posted, but i cant play any saved replays because my computer is convinced that .rpl files are "rhapsody playlist files" from gateway rhapsody. and ideas before i mess with my computer?

You need to start the replay's from within the game. Just stick the rpl in your mtm2 replay folder...but i cant play any saved replays
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Monster Truck Madness 2\Saved Replays
...and then fire it up in game.
All my rpl's are associated with rhapsody too and they work fine..
