*Tears in eyes* ...finally ready to release something!

Post by Drive2Survive »

Since my last post in this forum, I have fixed and remapped the truck textures (windshield, both sides and roof of the cab, both sides and tarpaulin of the bed, tailgate, chassis, two sets of hood and grille), plus sorted out some small details (shocks and exhaust pipe) I've long been meaning to add. I've also recompiled the pod files from scratch to make sure I don't forget any files, and finally drove them around in the game a little earlier this afternoon. So I guess I can (tentatively) say, at last, that they're 'finished'.

Before I release, however, I'd like to offer 'em for testing (since that other version missing wheels, lights and sounds slipped under my radar, I've decided it can't hurt to double-check). I just want to be sure that they don't crash the game or anything, and also to hear any suggestions for last-minute tweaks (I belatedly thought of putting BigDOGGe's independent suspension axles under them, but since that'd require rebuilding the pods - and also because the AU Falcon uses a live axle instead of IRS - I don't think I'll bother).

The zips are sans text files at the moment, but the pods are 'final' versions (unless I think of something I want to change). If everything is found a-ok, I'll write the readmes and post them on my site tomorrow night... I'm too tired to do any beauty shots of the trucks, save for the images below for my download pages, so if anyone wants to do some big artistic pics for me then please have at'm Image

Gosh it's been so long, I hardly remember what I'm doing...

Well, thanks and enjoy...

Bigdogge i'll see your three red and raise ya one blue test mule :o)

Very nice models D2S (sweet, bad, knarly, whicked, sick, groovy, cool, hot, kick *beep* and all that good stuff :) ... it's just too bad we cannot get those falcons over here anymore, my neighbor used to have one but i think they discontinued selling or mfg'ing them sometime in the late 60's here in the US...

nice shots Phin ;)

Thanks for the responses. The trucks have been released on my site (http://mtm2.com/~d2s/mtm2), hopefully with no broken links Image. You lot don't need to redownload them, unless you want to see the (long-winded) text files, but there are some rather nice truck parts up for download now also...

lol, we have rare and collectible versions here now? You two're making it mighty hard to abide by the 'avoiding conflicts with existing tr?cks' guideline...

That's why I make ya these. See, I'm lookin' after ya.
