Any more details on recreating the error?

Is it always the same pod file? If so then what pod?

By "selecting" do you mean clicking on the trk file in the file list in the middle of the window... or the bottom of the window?

Ok i've got that problem fixed. I was just missing a few files thats all. (i'm following the tutorial) But I have one more issue... I'm on to repaint a truck and the tutorial says 'Remove the stock paint so you have a plain color truck. '. do I have to paint over it, or is there a tool or something that will remove it for you. I'm using PSP4.

It means paint over it.

BTW, you might find useful the set of blanks made for repainting:

Thanks. I think (and hope) this will be my last problem; when i go to write a pod file, its says its missing the .raw files. but I looked and they were in my art folder.

What does your directory structure look like?

c:\misc\truck\dirt.trk
c:\misc\models\dirt.bin
c:\misc\art\dirt1.raw
c:\misc\art\dirt1.act
c:\misc\art\dirt2.raw
c:\misc\art\dirt2.act

yields

The file names are too long. If you shorten them up, and then make the adjustments in the BIN and in the TRK then you should be okay.

I don't remember exactly but I think the maximum length for file names is 14 characters, including the dot.

nope, still does the same thing. I also tried reconverting it from .bmp to .raw but that didn't help either. :?

Here's something you can try: extract the truck POD file again, but this time click "yes" when asked to save an LST file. Replace the RAW files in the newly unzipped folder with the ones you just painted, then get and open a pod making program called WINPOD. Click "Create a Pod", then select the LST file you let CPOD make. Then create the pod. I don't know why, but for me, CPOD extracted the files OK but had shedloads of errors when trying to create files into a POD. I tried an alternate pod making program, which was WINPOD, and it did the job. Try it and let me know how you get on. [tu]

Please zip up the *.ACT, *.RAW, *.BIN and TRK files and send them to me and I'll have a look to see if I can find the problem.

or zip them and upload to a website such as rapidshare.com

Remember; C-POD can build pods from LST files too:

I have a copy of the .raw files because when I went to go to write a pod from the .lst file...

and number 2 is missing also. Then i get the same error as at the begining.

Something must be wrong with the .raw file. Maybe you have to have the original copy, because i've renamed, copied, and moved them a lot.

Looking at the source code for C-Pod I can't figure out why "CHEVYRP1.RAW" is getting truncated to "CHEVYRP1.R"

can you give us the contents of the LST file?

Also, you should tell windows not to hide file extensions as per these instructions:
