1975 Gentleman Jim GMC

I've always loved the look of these trucks back in the 70's, growing up my neighbor had one 3 houses down. I just have to somehow tint the wheel centers gold to match the body...

Yup, I'm still around...

Just been trying to think up something new and original that hasn't been done before.

It's Done! Wha'yall think?

Even tho they never came as 4x4's, I still think it looks killer, plus I found a website devoted to all these bodystyle's of GMC's from the 70's and I plan to build a few more.

The GMC shortbox version of the fake dually Indy pace, Trans Am truck from the movie Cannonball Run for instance... Plus a GMC gold & white Indy pace truck that they made too, even maybe a spin off of the specialty truck that John Baker drove in the tv series Chips, also a specialty truck.

Gentleman Jim is on MY site and the trucks download page here right now.

Looks good, Rep. Nice detail on the rims too. I put some serious miles on these things back when they were new :-)

You nailed it with GJ.

Pimping that classic GMC body style with a skittles paint job is like pouring maple syrup on hot buttered popcorn. It may seem like a good idea at the time but you have to ask yourself after the fact, 'what was i thinking'. :)

I don't dislike it. no no no. But if I were so lucky to find myself in a position to own such a fine piece of Detroit I shirley would not paint it day-glo colors is all. I'm too old to tolerate such shenanagans.

Post it up on the dl page RF so I can sand it down to bare metal, paint it flat black from head to toe then abuse it on a long long camping trip.

I found a site full of specialty trucks and they had one on there called the "Sport" and it had that same paint, now I made the correct wheels too.

Here's a pic of the orig paint idea:
http://www.73-87.com/readers_rides/millar01.htm

Its different, I'll give GM that, but I prefer the Indy Pace trucks, the Gentleman Jim, Beau James, etc.

It's on my site and the DL page here, go beat on it. The pics dont do it justice, you have to see it in the game.
