Truck building methods.

Post by ben1777 »

I use a few different methods to help me build trucks and wondered if anyone knew of any others or used these same ones as me.

Firstly I find having a toy model of what you are building very useful especially fo getting the correct scale. I also often scan the toy models to get textures.

I also write down all the co-ordinates of all the vertices and all the vertices of all the faces.(Very boring I know but if something goes wrong it's great)

There are many ways to work but sounds like you have the idea pretty much in hand. I once created a truck from photographs of a real truck. And Drive2Survive has written what is probably the most extensive description of truck making anywhere.

If you have the time and patience to note vert and face coordinates then I think you'll enjoy Drive2Survive's work. He goes into incredible detail that can't but help anybody wanting to make trucks.
