Hangs head..

Post by Psyco »

Ok.. so.. it's not one of the 3 that I have unfinished.. but hey.. it's something.

Quick notes..
*This only has about 10 hours work in it sofar. The surroundings will change a decient bit in the near future.
* It's a little rough. I'm a little rusty and I'm having trouble getting things as smooth as I would like them
*It has NO models which means no checkpoints.
*As most of my tracks are until near the end.. It's unnamed.
*The truck courses were hastily done. They will be revised.

Anyway.. if anyone wants to run it and give some feedback..

Heh, if it's any consolation I have at least triple that number unfinished, some dating back to early '99. Anyway, you clearly know what you're doing! Looking good. There are couple of texture layout errors but I doubt this is the time to bother pointing them out.

I can't say I'm a fan of the 'grass' texture type, but yep, touch up those few textures, maybe smooth a bump or two, drop in some checkpoints and release this thing. Good work.

Wint.. couple hints on the textures couldn't hurt.. Thats one thing that sucks about the stock textures.. they're supposed to line up.. but they don't always.

Also, (oriented North in traxx) on the 'right' side of your course there is an X shaped crossroads, within a square's distance from that crossroads is a missing road edge, leaving a triangle of grass cutting into the road.

I'm waiting until I get the ground level just perfect before I start on models.. I'd forget to reset them and I'd end up with floating stuff...

Yea.. We had a cold snap here so I said why not...

Quick question.. Will the game automaticly read black as transparent or am I missing a setting?

In that case the jump coming out of that 270 degree turn near the beginning is a bit on the high side ;-)

> transparency

Binedit, select faces, groups, set group face type, mtm2 transparency

While I'm looking stupid.. I have a confession to make.. in my 9+ years (from mtm1 til now..) I've never made a model... Even a freakin sign with 8 sides is hard right now. LOL.. I've got it mapped out on paper correctly.. but for some reason I keep typing in vertexs wrong. :stupid: [bump]

A brain that can read numbers correctly. Mine likes to forget +'s and -'s.

I don't have a vertex # 0 do I? That may be where I'm screwing up?
