Trivia time...

Post by Alpine »

Far back as I can remember, there has only been 4 times that we've had a new zoneroom name based on something created in the community. One of those rooms is still around to this day.

Free prize to the 1st person who can correctly list the gameroom titles and origin of title.

In the event that there are more occurances that I missed, free prize to persons who list those as well. lol

huh?

How about a question for those of us that run screaming from the mere mention of "The Zone"

I used to go alot, but not these days. Filled with punks with HUGE ego's, I just go to talk about those guy's mothers, they really bug me, and flood the place anyway.

Ask a question that doesn't involve "that thing" and I'll fill ya with answers. The Zone is fun, but not as much as it used to be. Us old fellers go there as if we were going to the Mall these days with our kids.

Everyone stares at us, "what's with the old guy?" [:P]

Gotcha's track - Grandpa's Sunday Drive was one of the earliest user created tracks, which I believe had a direct impact on the choice of the gameroom title 'Sunday Driving' for MTM. Of course, that could merely be a coincidence.

A close friend and one of the very first GZ guys - MOP_Cobra - had a download site and http://www.maximumutopia.com and titled 'Maximum Overdrive' and there was an MTM1 room with that title soon after. There was a track and later a movie with the Maximum Overdrive title, but I don't think they were made at the time.

There was indeed a Tundra Tourney room, but that was a result of the Toyota and Microsoft sponsored tournament.

Of course, there was a CNR room made after me and Krystal_Ize created the Cops N Robbers gameplay.

And just when I couldn't remember a 4th gameroom, Good ol Grifter came online on ICQ. After mentioning this trivia question, he replied-

"I had a competition ladder..
Wrote the track upload and sortable database software used by me and KC (he rewrote it a year later)
ummm.. I created KC's internet gaming zone clone... etc.,. so I guess that could be considered a gamming room."

And there ya have it... Ok, Grift's game room wasnt a zone room, but close enuff until I remember a 4th...
