Stock tracks with improved checkpoints

Post by rocketalces »

:?:
Most stock tracks allow for significant shortcuts, meaning you won't drive the track as laid out. I dl a corrected version of the Heights which turned out to be great fun in LAN play.
Are versions with improved CP setting also available for other stock tracks?
If not, does somebody has a traxx file of them?
I would be willing to do re-placement of CP on some of them, e.g. Voodoo Island.

[I know this site doesn't encourage modification of existing track but in a strict sense I do not want to modify them]

dont need the .txx (traxx file), just open the pod in traxx and clone it.
Leg's Auto Emporium most anything that you'll need to make a truck!

TRI reissued the newer Heights version I believe because the original cd version had 'unintended' major short cuts in it...

as far as fixing the other stock tracks I don't see that as a problem at all, but personaly I'm sick to death of every single one of em lol one can do only so many thousands of laps on anything before it just becomes a wrenching blur heheh...

Traxx will not clone a txx file, the pod needs to be extracted with winpod or podview first... then, traxx will open it, once a track is cloned all the models will need to reset to the proper heights, the backdrop will need to be reinserted, music will need to be reset and a few other things, nothing major tho like the terrain or textures, they're all left intact.

if you need any help let me know... it would only take me a few minutes to prepare a txx file for voodoo (or whatever) for you to get a feel for what's involved, or I could go in to more detail with the how too... let me know.

Can you explain what steps have to be done here?
I'm a bit lost...
