Now that Kmaster has released his tool and allowed for tracks with 1000's of trees, I was curious, does the game use any type of object instancing, so that one particular .bin is loaded only once and then "instanced" all over the map wherever that particular bin shows up?
I think Traxx does not ...

Re: Evo to MTM2 Track converter
I've converted a few tracks with this utility now, and I have some suggestions / observations:
-The loader shouldn't fail on the pod2 type requirement. Several of OOPS's Evo 2 tracks are pod1. It should rather look for the v6 or 7 (evo 1 or 2) .sit file first and fail if it doesn't find that ...

Re: Evo to MTM2 Track converter
So stoked about this! Thanks, Kmaster!
I have quite a few I'd like to convert, and this tool will be a great first step.
Here's TeamDeath's Snake River Canyon in MTM2 (web app works like a charm!):

Re: JSTrackViewer - Online 3D track viewer
Looking great Kmaster!
That's interesting about the Evo checkpoints, because they do show in the object editor of Tracked4. (Yes, screenshots work now, Fila. Thanks!) In Tracked3, I think they even have a nice rainbow shine to them.

Re: JSTrackViewer - Online 3D track viewer
My comment about the screenshot was mainly to Fila, since I think he is still trying to figure out the permissions on this new forum platform and he might mean for attachments to be allowed on all forums?

Re: Online track viewer for MTM1&2
Got something figured out for the moment at least. Traxx has no problem reading Evo .clr files. The .tex file needs to be converted to MTM2 format (easy enough in notepad), and if you export the altitude minimap from the Evo 2 editor, it can be loaded in Traxx (first as a texture, then copy and ...

Re: Traxx 1.6.5
I have a small qol feature request. In the program options, I would like to be able to have my Traxx art and models folders settings stored in my Traxx folder. I sometimes have separate versions of Traxx in different folders and changing these folders in one install of Traxx changes them for all the ...

Here's a little video on normal maps for MTM2: https://youtu.be/wS3-cOH5eX4
Edit: Reminder of this tool too for making normal maps: https://cpetry.github.io/NormalMap-Online/

Re: Online track viewer for MTM1&2
Just checked it out and shared on the Evo discord. Beautiful stuff!
Any plans to bring some of this functionality to Traxx? It would be awesome to be able to convert Evo (2 especially) .sit files into MTM2 compatible ones. Tracked4 (Evo 2) is actually a very nice editor, but it's pretty hard to ...

Re: Online track viewer for MTM1&2
Yes, the 4x4evolution.net guys know about it. There is a 4x4 Evo 2 decomp on that guy's github too. From his Readmes on github, he decompiled some older versions of the game that he found on myabandonware. I think Fuzzy can't contribute because he has the actual source code to both games and signed ...

Re: Online track viewer for MTM1&2
I have two options. One of the members of the Evo discord shared a blender track importer. I can ask him if he's willing to share his code with you.
Another member did make a track importer for unity, and that might be open source. I will have to look tomorrow and get back to you.

Re: Online track viewer for MTM1&2
Evo would be amazing. I'd love to backport quite a few tracks from Evo 2. So many good team death and oops tracks. Even basic functionality / import for mtm2 would be fine for me.

Tutorial Video Ideas
I saw on another post that some video tutorials would be helpful to the community. Obviously, anyone should chip in who likes to do that stuff, but I am happy to make as many as I can. One wonderful thing about YouTube is that it can reach people who want to try modding and have never heard of the ...

Re: Community Patch #3
Fila, I haven't been able to do much testing over the past few days, but my feeling for the auto normal mask is that the strength should be related / determined by the average value of the textures in the _ref.png. 128 grey looks too strong on lighter textures, e.g. sidewinder, tumbleweed, deadman's ...

For another example, I also notice that the inward facing window shows from the outside on the GMC. I had used 0x33 when I should have used 0x41 on that face, but in game it looks correct from the outside.

Re: New Site is up
So, Kmaster's tool on github https://juanputrerasm.github.io/JSTruckViewer/ displays the Chevy SUV correctly, sans wheels and axles. It also has arrow key movement. The view on the truck page is where the screenshot from above came from. Just tried the one on the MTM2 trucks page this morning, after ...
