Romba

Good rumble tracks are those made by people who understand that staying on top of the summit is the challenge. The challenge is NOT getting up or even finding the rumble area. For this reason, all trucks start on top of the summit in Romba.

Good rumble players are those who understand that points are NOT the sole object of the game. This misconception leads to "sitting" and running away from opponents. I know of nothing worse in the MTM2 world than being stuck in a room with a bunch of sitters and chickens (quitters are another story). Romba offers no places to sit; no places to run and hide. Rumbles are about knock-offs, they are about hitting and, yes, being hit. These are Monster Trucks, they are not fragile, they run rampant over everything in their path, and they keep going regardless of damage. If you insist on playing for highest points, then make sure you keep your opponents' score low - to do that you must make sure your's is the ONLY truck on top - and the only way to do that is to knock everyone else off. That! is the challenge. Therein lies the excitement. That! is what rumbles are about.

Scenery? Variety is good. Scenery objects are not. They have no place in rumbles, they get in the way and slow down the game. You will find none in Romba. If you need eye-candy, feel free to check out the pseudo bill boards (technical thanks go out to Alpine and Monsta Driva - go get all their tracks). While I'm at it, thanks to Guitar Bill for Traxx (and his patience).

I've had my rant. Thank you.

Please, carry these thoughts with you into this and every other rumble you enter. Enjoy. :o)
