Positioning within the image

An untold factor

The first pixel in psp is actually 0,0 so when we are using the shape tool to form the circles for road templates the center is not where we have commonly thought it was but one pixel less. For example, on a 600x600 pixel graphic the center is not the 300x300 intersection but rather 299x299.

This is important when you realize that straight road sections, taken from opposite ends of the template, often appear to be off by just a wee bit in the game.

So, what I've started doing is painting a one pixel dot at the true center point and work from there. The dot has the added benefit of helping you find center again when zoomed in very close.
