Although ObeOne admits in his readme that he's disappointed with this track, his modesty aside, there can be little doubt this track is just fun to run. This is a great track built around a novel theme and good use of textures. The emphasis here has been placed on the submarine aspects, as well as the exploratory nature of the track. The setting is every forest ranger's nightmare (and mtmer's dream) as monster trucks ravage the serenity of a camping ground in a pine tree forest. Then it's on to the beach you go and quickly off again into the water. The underwater environment (some of the best scenery use you'll see) is not nearly so pristine where you have to negotiate your way through the debris on the lake bed. This includes a wrecked car, some chainlink fencing which forms a ramp, some boulders, a bus, and what looks like a large section of sewer pipe before entering a drainage channel that brings you back to dry land. While under water, veer to port, and you find a maze where you can zoom around without letting the water slow you down, and when you're done there, come back out, head up the old sewer pipe, and off to finish the race. The landscape undulates satisfyingly with no "big air" jumps to speak of, so you are not staring at the sky for half the race when using the cockpit view. The custom models and textures are excellent as is the use of stock stuff. A lot of really cool bins are integrated well. The changing of the textures makes it seem like you are going somewhere other than in a straight line. If we agree with Obe, then we might be inclined to label this one a novelty track that is only good for a bit of playing around. And since the computer trucks don't give much competition, we might lean this way. However, on-line is a different story. Your time underwater is minimal (and it doesn't slow you down) and the road is wide with plenty of hazards to knock your opponents out. There is a race here if you and a few pals want to give it a run. Good racing, good atmosphere and a consistent theme makes this track Fun with a Capital F. Snorkels not required.
