Well.. its not boring, in fact it is very difficult to drive. People who like difficult tracks would like this one. The all-custom textures and rugged terrain create a tough drive through the Alaskan Rockies. There are some really nice touches here. For instance, checkpoint poles with draping banners, flowers on the hillsides, ceiling lights in the tunnels, old-style lettering on a train trestle, as well as flowing rivers and waterfalls. And all well done. The dusk weather mask tries to hint at northern lights. The course itself travels up and down sharp gradients with some tight, blind corners, and added to the jagged terrain (the track's one sore spot), there are bridges out and construction zones. A very challenging drive, sometimes not particularly enjoyable. Traps can be fun and interesting, but there must be a way out of them. The fact that you where slowed down is enough, you should'nt have to use the heli to leave a trap. This track is not a speed track, you have to put your foot down in places (particularly to make the first unfinished bridge jump), and at other times, you have to slow down to a crawl to stay on the road. Some severe altitude changes make this track difficult. You'll need some driving skill as you constantly need to be shifting between high and low gears and speeds. You will need to practice running this track a few times before feeling confident about actually finishing the course. Some nice custom models and textures make up for what's missing in raceability. The track and textures and overall theme are pretty good. A lot of fine looking scenery and some fun ideas add a lot of eye appeal, but don't be gawking or you will run into the mountain hehe. The readme does warn that you need to use the brake, and it is true. Not everybody's cup of tea, but its quite possible that Alaskan Sunset will grow on you.
