 Post subject: Frame-rate crap-out
PostPosted: Fri Aug 17, 2001 1:16 pm
when i use a custom truck on any track the frame rate is fine, but when i switch to a certain track that is on the bottom of the POD.INI file, the frame rate goes out. when i switch to other tracks, the frame rate is just as bad. WHAT HAPPENED??? I have a p-III 700MHz proc. 128 RAM Compaq laptop w/AGP graphics.

Put the certain track that is on the bottom of the pod.ini file higher up in the pod.ini file.
Sometimes restarting your pc helps to.

Hope this helps you..

It seems odd that your framerate would not recover if there was no "crash" or anything. Are you sure it isn't just that a certain custom truck gets selected as an opponent, which then sabotages your rate - a luck of the draw kind of thing. Some custom trucks are near deadly to the game when in view, as opponents.

I moved the tracks up, but it didn't work (basically the reason is the trucks moved down?). the suggestion of restarting the pc might work, since restarting the game itself works too. I think i need bigger help since it seems to be maybe more of a serious problem? dern Microsoft...in all of my years of playing computer games, i've never had so much problems with games in other OS's, but Windows has destroyed my faith in any and all games working in 100% condition WITHOUT patches or other upgrades.

some custom tracks have too many objects on them and kill your framerate, is it just one particular track that this happens on?
