You'll have to actually go to the trouble of remapping the bin.

Go to the BinEdit Help section here at the Guild, and there will be lots of info.

On the other hand, if the new texture keeps all of the parts in the same place (the spot that used to show an add, still shows the add etc.) you can probably just use MDMRE's BinReplacer to stick the new texture in.

>changing the shape of objects

What did you have in mind? If you want to change a train model into a bus, you're in for a hard time. If you want to change a stop sign into a replica truck, it will be even harder. But if you want to resize a model or stretch it, then there's a chance you can do it. So, what did you have in mind.

>Billboards.

Best advice, go grab the mtmg billboards from this site. Sir James has already remapped them for easy editing. Just rename, repaint, and use mdmre's texture replacer.

In binedit, highlight the face you don't want and press ctrl+x. That'll get rid of unwanted faces. Once you're done, you can goto the menu at Vertex>delete all unused vertices. That'll get rid of unnecessary vertices.

"ins" vs "bins" : members can edit their own messages without the need of posting again. Look at the tiny graphics above your post - one of them says "edit". No problem on double posts. That stuff happens.

Whenever i'm doing stuff like this i use EZBIN first then BINEdit for the final touches or visa versa EZBin is better than BINEdit in some ways but when it comes to mapping faces it is hopeless

If you repainted the screen.raw in the same way it was painted before you dont need to remap. Just get the texture replacer. It's somewhere under Utilities.

If your just want to make slight changes to the bin you need to move vertices. Press the "tab" to move from one to the other until you get to a corner of the part you want to reshape then if you want to make it taller press y, shorter shift + y. X , shift x moves it side to side & z , shift z foward & backwards.
Read all about these & other things you can do right here on the MTMG.

About those trucks Ottobahn, they are made from 3D models I have found all over the net. These model have tons of faces. So in order to map them correctly I may have taken weeks & I was just starting out so I took a short cut. See the models come in layers so all I did was export each layer separately as a wavefront & saved each piece as 1.obj, 2.obj ect. That way I could import each.obj file, select all the faces & map them to one spot. Then save it as a bin & repeat until all the parts are turned into bins. Then I just inserted them all back together & made a car.
It's the laziest way to do it & at the time it was the only way I knew how Image. My main hope was to get the bin out there & people who actually knew how to map a bin would redo it. Some have been done, Viper LIL Jeep & a couple of others. For the most part it's just to much work though. Maybe someday, now that I have a clue Image, I'll redo them but I'm really gonna have to be bored.
So to answer your question Image, they need to be remapped in order to do anything other the a solid color change. O & feel free to do what you want, no need to ask. Thats what they are out there for.

You probably have it. It doesn't have 32 on the end. Change the filename to 'comdlg32.oxc and it will find it.

If you're talking about the Ignition with the Bus, Monster Truck, Porsche and the symbol is dynamite etc... how do you edit it?
ps- on the level with the long/short route signs, take one and on the jump, switch over by a 90* turn in mid air. This shortens or lengthens the course by a second or 2. Oh and on the snow level by the avalanche, go down the ski slope instead of zigzagging down.
Try these- BANARNE-Make the cars huge and chunky
FILMJOLK-A weird screen flip thingy
SKUNK-All cars invisible except for their wheels
SLASKTRATT-All the hidden cars are accessable
SURMULE-All the hidden tracks are accessable
SVINPOLE-Zoom to a behind car view
