Custom textures issue?

I am trying to finish up my custom textures for Dallas 08' and save it as a .bmp, under 8 letters too, but, it says it isn't a bitmap when I try to convert it. How do I fix that.

You need to save the file type as well as just the extention in the file dialogue box.

Also make sure it is 8 bit colour.

8 bit colour?

In PaintShopPro under colour on the menu decrease colour depth (<) 256 colour (8 bit)

In photoshop it is called index colour.
