Well, I was really close to 99 pods ... and used cpod to merge several pods I knew I would keep in my list ... and that gave me a lot more room. I've been able to add beyond the 99 pod limit (technically) because the program "sees" fewer than 99 pods.

If I unmerged a few things... I'd be over 99 pods.

hmm, with merged pods it takes away from my 99 limit, i can only have up to 79 pods, any more and game won't load.

Excessive sit and trk files in the pods will crash mtm2.

CH_2005 made a utility (called C-PODINI.exe) that counts the number of sit and trk files and let's you know when you've reached the limit. It's included in the cpod download zip.

sry i guess i didnt say my point, my point is even with compressed and merged pods, my max is 79, so how can you have 99?
My biggest is game.pod from mtm1. Tho my understanding is I could disable the drag race tracks and give myself more pod file room?

You can have 99 pods, sit files and trk files.

If you exceed the 99 limit on any one of those the game won't run. Example, if you have 120 sit files but only 50 pods you're out of luck; if you have 105 pods but only 20 trks you're still out of luck.

You can give yourself more sit file room. But note, once you change a pod you will probably get the different version message when you're online.

o rly? u can just silently disable it in cpod?, meh thats fine by me, i only offline race the mtm1 tracks anyways heh

I know this dbl post but, I ran the list, and, several tracks, including mine, ran like crap on my laptop, which is actually more powerful than my desktop, i forget which in particular, I know on mine the trucks stall on the top of the ramp again.

Anyways my poitn is, Ill try and fix that again lol Since I apperently failed

I think Clawfford was the feller who discovered that computer trucks get worse with increased cpu speed. It's weird but apparently true.

Speaking of this list.... we lost the zip in the crash. Is it still on your server or should I make it again? Or is disposable still around?

Adn thsi time ill test on more than my 200 mhz and 2.6 ghz machines. apperently 1.8 ghz is just the right speed to ruin it lol.

I think it is tied to frame rates. Can you say what framerate you were getting, Slayer? On my home computer I have to run with vertical sync forced off in the global driver settings of my graphics card. In MTM2 I generally get a framerate well in excess of 100 frames, and the bot trucks are totally talentless, they seem never to apply enough steering lock so they overshoot on all corners and drive slowly because they are always off course and trying to recover. However if I run the game with vsync enabled so it is locked to 75fps, the bots improve markedly and it seems they get even better if you manage to drop the framerate lower.

I would surmise that the computer-controlled programming in the game is utilising the time delta between frames to some multiplicative effect when calculating steering angles, and it is probably a bug in the logic that makes it steer less when the time between frames is small. Most people would play with a framerate around 75fps (vsync'd with their monitor) and the trucks are passable, but when the framerate is lower, they steer more aggressively and negotiate the course even better.

Oldie: 5-25 fps, Drives perfect
Newbie: 85:120 (sync on or off), Drives perfect
Lappy: 30:60:200 (depending on video card performance setting for battery power), drives horriable at all speeds


Oldie: 200mhz P2 xpert@play ATI 4meg
Newbie: 2.6ghz P4 nVidia 6600 256meg
Lappy: Duel 1.8ghz P4 nVidia 7600 256 meg

I still have the ZIP (Modified) still has 77 Tracks, and I have left out the stock tracks as everyone will already have these.
Do you want me to upload it to Slayers server?

If you do I will edit the information on MTM2/Tracks to reflect any changes.

go ahead, I havent refixed yet anyways, i will tonight prolly, I hope. Teh same accoutn should still work fine, if its up there when I get hiome ill move it to the proper spot and edit it myself

Right Slayer! I'm uploading it to your server, you will find it hiding in amoung all your other stuff!
Either let Phin download it for the MTM2/Tracks page, or if you have access, then you upload it......I will alter the details on the Tracks site myself right now! :D
