does anybody know MTM2 won't play the sounds I assigned in the .trk file? I podded the truck with binedit and even added the .wav files to the pod...but i can't find out if it worked because army won't say a sentence that uses one of the sounds i'm using...

Start a game with the truck alone and hit K on the keyboard. That's what would normally switch the view from truck to truck, and Army says the name of the truck it switches to. With only 1 truck though Army just says the name. That's how I test my sound files.

The WAV files have to be in a particular format. PCM 11kHz 8-bit mono. If you don't match the format, the game won't use them.

Also, I know this is obvious but make sure you haven't turned commentary off [:P]

i tried the change truck thing to see and no it must be a bad file type, so i checked and it turns out i can't view the summary to see what type of .wav it is so i'm wondering if theres a way to restore this or recreate the .wav with new properties...if that makes sense at all

Can you play the wav file, say in Media Player?

To change the format, try this: Load your wav into a sound editing program (Sound Recorder that comes with Windows will do - Start Menu->Accessories->Entertainment->Sound Recorder - or you can use a more comprehensive sound editing software if you have it), check if it plays, and go to File->Save As and set the format to that specified for the game. Then rebuild your pod file with your new wav and see if works in the game now.
