What about the words at the bottom, in the grass, that say "expo 2003 prize <u>DVD</u>"?

The way we saw it, dvd's are inevitable since files are getting larger and larger all the time, and dvd drives are now around fifty bucks.

> excuse HotToes. His "elevator" hasn't gone near the top floor

Shoe's right you know. Over here in Britain it doesn't want to work at all. :? I tried a Playstation 2, a PC and a DVD player. Do you know of any problem when trying to play American software on British PC's?

All I see in the grass are the words:
RHINOSEROS.COM
-=MTMC4FUN EXPO 2003=-

???

Nice hat though.

Hey, thanks for the hat and the DVD.
But why does my package not include an empty CD? [:P]

Just came back from holidays and caught the UPS guy at his 3rd (and last...) delivery attempt.

I love the snapshot from Phin's garden (or is it Mal's?).
That statue must have cost a fortune, lol

Nice, nice, nice

just so that everyone knows and can appreciate, all the logos and lettering on those hats was painstakingly stitched in by hand by none other than Phin himself [:P]

as for the labels on the dvd's, I had printed about six or seven without the "prize dvd" on them then thought to myself, ya know someone's probably going to put this in a cd player then complain that it don't work lol...

You need to stick it in a PC DVD-ROM :)

Yes, the problem may be due to Regional Encoding, and personal DVD burners may well be forced to use it.

Oh now don't go complicating matters. Regional codes have nothing to do with this.

Quote:
Region codes do not apply to DVD-Audio. In general, region codes don't apply to recordable DVDs. A DVD that you make on a PC with a DVD burner...etc. (faq)

These are data disks and can be read on all dvd computer drives. It works for fila, it works for rocketalces, and it worked on all our test systems. We were very cautious before committing to this kind of thing, and we ran numerous tests just to be sure everything was a go. We're confident it will work everywhere, tho we're aware that some people, like Hotshoe, don't have a dvd drive in their computer yet. But according to our poll (Do you have a dvd drive in your computer?) a large majority of people either have or plan to get a dvd drive. For those who receive a disk and who don't plan to get a drive, all we can do is offer the disk as a trophy rather than a usable product... and we hope they understand that sometimes today's plans change tomorrow.

And just to be perfectly clear, the disk is not a game or program. it is an mtm2 data disk. It works on computers only. But boy oh boy does it work. It's the biggest, baddest, bestest mtm disk ever made.

The DVD works on my brothers german Laptop... so if something from north america works on a german product then by golly... regional codes are not the problem :D

I don't think PS 2 would play it though... hehe

And dang it, i still stare at this beatifull 4.7gig of data and can't do jack since for some reason my new NIC card won't work and i can't transfer the data from my brothers laptop. LOL

Now because of Phin i'll buy a DVD-Rom around next month.... you bad person!

Welkie, muchly.

Oh, and by the way. Everybody who received a prize pack, we would very much like if you could send us a picture of you wearing it (or something, lol) so we can put it on the prize page. We thought it would be a pretty cool and funky kinda thing to do. We hope you agree.

I wanted to do that immedialty after getting the package... but my brothers digital camera (hehe, the only digital camera in the family... and the only laptop... you can tell he lives in germany and not Romania) was at my dad because he needed to take some pictures and he wasn't home. And now my brother is in the mountains and doesn't come back until Monday... when hopefully he'll have the camera.

Btw... i got the netword card to work :D Now having the Expo DVD on my hdd.
Too bad you can't see pictures of the trucks at off-line beeks site :(

P.S. Also it's better i didn't took picture right away... i got a big red pimple on my nose, not pretty :(

Perhaps it's just a "natural" dvd incompatibility?

For example over here lots of people have problem with cd's not working in their drive because of their cd-rom having a low compatibility with the cd's out there (mostly the blank cd's that we buy wherever we can).

I was always lucky enough to have a cd-rom that had a compatibility rating of 99.99% (hehe, there must be a cd out there that doesn't work).
