You can associate C-POD with all those files listed on the dropdown of the open dialog.

I have to go my break is almost over.

I want to avoid having a list of files when it's not a pod cause then i have to diable all those neat funtions or i have to rewrite them to work on files that are on the disk no in a pod.

not really interested in MTM1 or EVOs. Sorry.

{µ} is where u can double click stuff. also it shows where to hver to see what double clicking will do. It says so on the main screen next to "C-POD" guess u missed that.

I'll get back to this thred when i get home.

ttyl.

Calm down there, big guy. I was just being thorough [;)]

Update. I just tried the texture replacer on a real application and it went smooth as silk. No problems or errors at all.

psst. The change track type is great now! Nice job :-)

for the adding of an entire folder ought i recure the subdirectories? Or should i prompt?
i guess i should prompt. I have it adding directories of files but i havent made it recursive yet.

>ought i recurse the subdirectories?

Do you mean if I drag a folder should it include sub folders? My first impression would be no. The game doesn't read sub folders inside a pod (that I know of) and I can see no useful purpose for including them. Also, there's the < 32 character name limitation to consider. More sub folders means higher risk of illegal names.

Excellent work, ch! I'm really looking forward to this one. It is already becoming one of my favs.

edit 1. oops, I had to click "raw to bmp" save button two times for a convert.

edit 2. How do you do a batch conversion?

edit 3. This is not an official request. But how hard would it be to display the palette in the detail window in something similar to the psp5 layout?

http://mtm2.com/~forum/images/palettetraxx.gif
http://mtm2.com/~forum/images/palettepsp5.gif
http://mtm2.com/~forum/images/palettecpod.gif

This is just a curiosity as much as anything. There are many ways to display palettes and I don't think there's a right or wrong way. Personally, I like the psp style, but I understand all the others as well, so it's hardly a big deal.

lo. heh. I liked my palette. hehe.
look in act.dat
it's a 256x256 raw
It was tough to make a grid of 4 by 4 squares so i made stripes.
i typed all the numbers from 00 to FF and then i copied that 256 times. lol. I love making files in hex editors.
If u make a better raw for showing the palette send it on over and i'll replace my old one.

Hehe. I didnt think anyone would be able to figure out how to do a batch conversion. Well - it requires you open multipul raw files or bmp files. And since u cant select multipul from file->open then you have to think of another way. Remember u can open files by dragging them to the word 'C-POD' ::wink::wink::

You mean u double clicked on a raw and hit save as bmp and then saved and it didnt work the first time?

when i pick out all those directory names it has nothing to do with what directory they are in. i base it on the extension.
Nvm. I dont want to recurse. U can just go into a folder and select all it's files and folders how about that :)

How would I go about doing that? Unless you mean something like this.
<center>
<img src="http://mtm2.com/~forum/images/palettech1.gif" width="256" height="256">
</center>
14x14 squares, 8 pixels off the edge. It was the most uniform I could get while avoiding weird numbers (eg two pixel between but one pixel border)

> I didnt think anyone would be able to figure out how to do a batch conversion.

You didnt think correctly. I couldn't figure it out, lol.

> Remember u can open files by dragging them to the word 'C-POD'

I got a "not a valid file extension" message

> You mean u double clicked on a raw ...

What ever was happening before isn't happening now. Weird.

> I dont want to recurse. How about that?

Fine by me.

Yer funny. There's a choice of like 16 million colors, isn't there? What colors do I use? Same as metalcr2.act (that would be easy) or something different (not as easy).

> i typed all the numbers from 00 to FF and then i copied that 256 times.

If I knew what intervals to use, I'd make a script to generate it.

edit. I don't know what I'm talking about. Do you mean like the values html uses? I could do that, I think.

silly me. i assumed y'all knew the ACT and RAW file formats. heh.
Ok here goes:
the reason that ACT and RAW are fast to use is because they have no headers
an act has 768 bytes. 256 R,G,and B values.
thats it
a raw file has one byte for each pixel
each byte points to a color in the ACT
so i typed 00,01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,0A,0B,... in the raw
that way i had one row in the raw. then i copied it 256 times for 256 rows

i just need 65536 bytes
each byte a pixel.

write a script that makes a 256x256 raw with 256 squares in it each 16x16 pixels and make each have a different color in it.

I made the color chart like this

http://cownap.com/~pics/cgi/colorchart.cgi

I generated a pal file like this

http://cownap.com/~pics/cgi/colorchartpal.cgi

When I applied it to the graphic, the lines, of course, were the same color as the last square. I then changed the last line to 255,255,255 and it appears like you see. Technically, there is only 256 colors so I imagine there's a duplicate someplace but I don't know which square it is. I can take the lines out and then fiddle with it for proper size if you want. Or I can increment the numbers by a larger value and include the R color in the variance to differentiate the palette by a greater scale. Or I can do both. Let me know what you think is best.

yep, that works. But I was surprised to see the results. That's just a gray scale image.

Two fun links
http://cownap.com/~pics/cgi/colorchart2.cgi
http://cownap.com/~pics/cgi/colorchartpal2.cgi

I may have been able to save myself the trouble with the pal file but at least this way we know it's right on.

Has nobody even looked at this thing yet! C'mon guys, he's making a killer utility - possibly the best mtm podding program ever - and nobody even reads the thread, let alone try the program or let him know his work is worth completing? What's the matter with you people.

I'm Soooo glad someone said that. I didnt want to be so blunt. I would sound a bit arrogant. Thanx phinny.

possibly the best mtm podding program.

I think that word threw most people off since it's a very common mistake to associate podding with mounting...

it's by far the best pod building/editing program out there... yes it is!

.....allow me to archive these quotes before they're deleted

"MTM2 still rocks but I lost some interest since I could not build trucks . CH_2005 put an end to that . C-pod is one rockin' program (I'm like a kid with a new toy again !!) . More to come for sure !!"

"I fixed the shine through . I used CH-2005's untranspartizer (also a cool lil' program)"

"CH_2005 , I am glad you stopped in here . I want to thank you personally for sharing your work with us . Tracked2 is the only program that I could make trucks with . Believe me , I tried several other ways including using evo methods . Nothing worked and I was bummed . When I read the post about what this program can do I jumped on it with both feet !!"

unsolicited comments don't lie :o)

sweet proggy CH... thank you!

I know this thread has advanced way beyond this, but I got this error when I installed C-Pod today. I simply put it in my MTM 2 folder (along w/the other files), clicked on the exe icon, and wala.

Any ideas?

Tonight I'm gonna reinstall MTM 2, and b4 I throw in all my other trucks/tracks, I'll give it another go. Off to bed for now. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

PS - for Podzip Turbo and Stock Config I get "Path not found" error. Daaanng! lol

c-pod replaces both of those.
I'd say download the vb6 runtimes for C-POD to work. That might alliviate the prob.
