[quote="Phineus"]I can't get my geforce to go that high. Are you doing anything special to get those kinds of frame rates or do you think there's something up with my system that doesn't allow it to go as high as you're gretting. I can't investigate 500fps when I'm peaking at 150ish.
as far as being able to get more frames per second out of game is just a matter of expiramenting a bit ...lotta rumblers go for high framerate, but I am under the persuasion that high framerate isnt always your freind, in a rumble anyways on dial up ...i usually run around 500 frames per second , because I like my eye candy and when I setup for higher, I usually get lagged way worse and do the bulk of the flying during rumbles ...booooo
my old GF2 Ultra would do 1000.27 (which is max frames you can achieve on mtm2 game) ..and that was with nvida settings to max performance, vsync off, no aa or antisoptric filtering enabled, and using cab view in game with all all eyecandy off and view distance to 50% with no other cars running...and triple buffer
things to expirament with are trying different drivers for your video card and see what works best for you ....
..also make sure you system resources are up not only for better gaming performance , but for better performance all around out of your computer ...98se , Me, and XP users, should get familiar with msconfig ....if win2k , find a buddy with xp and copy their msconfig file onto floppy and then place in same directory into your computer ...to clean up you system tray of needless crap running in background ...if winXP user ...check out
www.blkviper.com for other services you can shut down to free up more resources on comp...
..and back to my original topic
..first of all , game limits framerate to 1000.27 (normally), but my friends are experiencing the limit lowered to 500.27 exactly 500frames per second under what normal cap is ....hmmmm
..and only seems to be with nvidia cards ...any thought suggestions on why this is?
