Has anyone made dually fenders that can be resized and added to any body?

Garret Lockhart did something like that I believe. I don't know about the 'resizing and fitting to any body' part, but you should be able to adapt something.

I couldn't find any bodies like that at local scrapyards any more, but there's one old truck at Vales with dually rear fenders,.....perhaps you could use those...

LOL...a second BODIES page? i never saw that obscure "2" at the top of the page before....well, well....

There are actually 2 bodies there with dually fenders...take your pick.

It's too bad there's no way to put dually tires on the back, without having to put them on the front as well...

I kinda looking for something "pre-made" that was at some scrapyard i didn't see, but you can't have everything you want... I'm off to the BinEdit Tutorial thing to find out how to remove verticies... thanks for the time, help, and creative ideas.


I'm banned from KC's too... I guess you missed the topic in the sysops forum where KC changed the story to make it sound good so he could brag a couple months back...

and thats not my truck... I found it on a web site. (a few ppl were saying 'nice truck')

It's really FACES (or polygons) you want to remove to have at those tempting fenders....

Press the spacebar to highlight one of the faces on the BIN. press Repeatedly to move from face to face.....

Every time you highlight a face that is NOT part of the fenders, press CONTROL-X to delete it. Repeat until all the faces are gone, except for the faces on the fenders.

NOW you get to delete vertices. Mainly, the ones that are floating about, no longer attached to any faces....

Go to the VERTIX menu in Binedit, and select DELETE UNUSED VERTICES....poof*...they're gone, and you are done....

Now save your fenders under a new name ( dualfend.bin?)

Recommendation:
Delete one of the fenders. It will be easier to postion a single fender, then duplicate it to the other side of the truck...

FIRST:
Once you have the single fender positioned properly on the body, delete all the body faces using the method described above, leaving just the fender in it's new position. Now delete those unused vertices, and save it. (fendr-R.bin or fendr-L.bin, depending on which side you saved). Always use 8 letters or less.

SECOND:
Now to mirror-image it for the other side, First go to the FACE menu, and pick SELECT ALL FACES. Now go to the GROUPS menu and pick FLIP ALL FACES IN GROUP.

*the fender will look strange now as it's inside-out...no worries....*

THIRD:
Go to the MODEL menu, and select RESIZE. In the WIDTH window, place a minus sign (-) on the left side of the dimension, to make it a negative number
( Example: 2.32453 becomes -2.3453 )

This makes the model normal again, but now it's a mirror image model of what you started with.

Save it as the opposite fender (if the original was fend-L.bin, then name this one fend_R.bin).

Have fun with your new set of dually fenders...
