I've always played MTM2 alone (shame). I use the stock tracks 'cos most of the downloads are spoiled by rotten comp car handling. Exceptions I have are Tibetan Cliffside (great) and Craggy Isle (but that's mine!)
I'm looking for competition. The zone is ok but is full of whackies so I've never raced there. I'm looking for someone (one person to start) to compete against regularly in private games on the zone. Stock setups only to start with while I learn the ropes.
My exact spelling and correct grammar give away my age 60+
I live in Ireland so it's dialup only
Any takers mail me direct if you want

go on the Zone, you'll get all the comp. you can handle.

Anyone with SLO, or RIP by their names, trust me.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the weekend tourneys

Probably a much improved environment over the everyday zone.

Piggybacking on RF's post, look for OLD or NIR, too. I must say I think your assessment about the Zone being full of wackies is a bit overstated. Yes, there are some rather peculiar personalities out here, but there are also people who enjoy the fun and excitement derived from racing - not harrassing people in the main chat, which you may have already experienced.

You might find it difficult to locate players who'll run stock only. Nowadays track lists are the way to go. Checkout this page for more details. Personally, I think you should log into the Zone and look up the team names you've seen listed in mine and RF's posts for starters, which will inturn connect you to more players. There are some really great people out here (mixed in with the so-called wackos lol) who could care less what your skill level is; it's all about socializing, racing and having fun. We have a myriad of skill levels on Team SLO ranging from super-duper fast to intermediates to beginners...and we ALWAYS have a great time when we get together in a room. :)

Before I go I might add that if you opt to give the racing lists a try, downloading them will present a challenge since you're on dial-up. If you have a d/l manager - great. If you're truly anxious and want to get started quickly, look me up and I'll arrange to have a cd sent to ya with all the goodies you'll need. I'm in the U.S., but I've sent cd's all over the world, and Ireland is certainly within my range. If you were on Mars we'd have a problem lol.

But hey guy, come on out and look us up. I think after you get to know a few ppl you'd have a great time. :)

Might I add that I ain't no Slouch either [:P]

Like Cope says, yes there are some goofy individuals on there from time to time, but if you're looking for some competition, look in the right places, there are are more than enough guys on there that'll give you a whoopin'

I know, first hand. I went on there thinking I was tough too, and I was schooled... very hard. But now, I can run with the big boys, and even beat them.

Pic the right battles man, you'll have fun one way or another.

just my opinion

hehe the passwords varies, the key is to wait until they come out to get someone then ask the room host if you can join. From there the fun start.
May sound quiet in some of the rooms sometime. We use roger wilco a lot to talk during race. It's much easier than type for some of us lol

If you wanna see where you stand in terms of lap time, have a look at Team SLO's hall of fame there's over 300 tracks listed in there and we raced them all.

Yeah, what's your zonename :) Although racing lists are all the way these days, I also like the stock tracks a lot.
