Hey guys,

I need racers for an mtm2/LiveForSpeed event.

Besides MTM2 i also play GPL and LFS. I join a league in LFS and its always team Elite that wins that league. Now those guys know i play MTM2 and they know i'm a member of team OLD so they challenged me (and other mtm'ers) for a little event.

Race will take place on 4 tracks in mtm2
- x-raid trny version by me
- Castle Nugget ROC by RocketAlces
- Button Hook by Spreker
- Oregon Outback by SLO_Hotshoe
and on 2 tracks, with real wheel driven cars, in LFS demo.
- Rallycross track
- GP track

Looks like team Elite will come with 6 racers while we are only with 3 so far (Rocketalces, SLO_Scatter and me)

We don't know yet where or when this will be held but it will have to be in the weekends since that's easier with time zones.

Don't let those Elite guys think we are chicken lol.

What speed connection is required to play online?

112MB + dialup... you can imagine the pain I'm sure. I have a broadband access solution (i.e. uni) I can down it through much more manageably, but it'd cost me (only a little).

I'll happily do that to download it and give it a playtest. But if you need better than dialup to play online, then I'm out of the running before I've even kicked the tyres, y'see...

I have asked the Elite guys D2S. I don't think it's a problem since i don't see any out of the normal lag when playing mtm2 with you.

What concerns me more is to find a time and date on when to do with. With team Elite, me , Evil (yes.. maybe he will join as well) in Europe, Scatter in the USA and you in Aussieland that won't be easy at all lol.

Mumhra: Lococost tells me you were thinking of me to host the mtm leg, is this correct?

No suggested times or dates as of yet?

Want me to send out an email to all the racers and see if any more materialise?

Loco asked me if you were interested yes. But that was before D2S said he might join and i told him that you prob could not host because back then we were planning to hold it 2 hours prior to your trny so that would be 5AM for you lol.
Now with D2S joining i still have to find out when to do it. Won't be easy i think since Evil wants to join as well and he prob won't game after 11 pm our time. We also have to consider Scatter... I have no idea when to do it lol

Ok mumhra; well let us know when you get close to some sort of times and days Will see what i can do, If D2S can make it then i should be able to, not as if its every week of the year.

Well I would like to be a part of this if you'll have me, and the timing is do-able, and the dialup is capable. I decided to bite the bullet and download the sim, and I've had a bit of a play with it and I like the way it handles (although my driving style's probably a bit ragged lol).

Which rear-wheel driven car is it to be, the atmo or the turbo? Are you settled on race lengths and formats?

I wonder if I could skin that car for a MTM2 "team" version... lol.

Ofcourse we will have you lol. Biggest problem will be timing but that must be doable.

I have not heard anything on which car yet. But my guess is that it will be the XRG for the rallycross and the XRT for the GP track.
I also have no idea if it will be normal layouts or reversed.

Race lengths will prob be around 20 minutes for GP race and 10 minutes for rallycross but also not sure there lol.

Skinning is rather easy in LFS. Just open the .jpg files with a paintprogram and start painting. Problem is that the demo does not connect to LFSworld where skins are automatically downloaded. So racers will have to manually download the skins prior to the race but that won't be a problem i think.

You can read all about this event and all about the passed wintertrophy where you can see screenshots of those Elite guys in action and ofcourse results on how they did lol )
