I just discovered a service worth mentioning:
http://s3.quicksharing.com/
It's a free file host you can use any time you wish to share a file, with no registration required. There is an upload button right on the homepage, you just browse to your file and upload it, then you're given a URL to link to. The page with your download has an assortment of text based google ads and the link to your file. It's really that clean and simple.
I think you can upload any type of file, up to 500mb, and if nobody downloads it for 30 days it will self-delete. I think this is perfect for certain situations, like forum discussions or when you don't want to slam someone's e-mail account with an attachment.
At the moment this service is nothing short of brilliant, with no nasty ads or pop-ups or anything like that, and the page layout is simple and straightforward, not the usual bunch of shuck and jive seen with similar services.
