I've been working on a few projects lately and have been wondering how many good modeled V-tread tires are available. You know the kind of thing - basically, they are stock tires, but a 3D tread has been attached and re-mapped to the stock texture. I have one available by Repfan (and a very good set at that) but I could have sworn I saw some more modern (and curved) ones somewhere.

Does anyone know where such tires are available?

Not to toot my own horn, [yeah, I hate doing that... [(-:]] but I think mine may be the best out there right now.

Others can be made to a more modern style, but as much as I hate to say it, I think you may have to make em.

I know about every truck ever released and very few had 3D treads, that's why I made mine, although not the greatest, but that may be all there is.

Unless a better modeler than me can make a set, mine were a pain enough, I'm done. :D

Good luck bro...

CGZ made a ton of nice ones for evo. I don't know his site but you can find some of them at this link

Sort by author to bring his up... there's a few others there too.

The only thing about 3D treaded tires is that they can add a lot of game lag, depending on how much detail they may have. For this reason, 3D treaded tires never became popular in MTM2.

Cobra_GZ's 3D tires for EVO-1 and EVO-2 are a bit too laggy for Monster Truck Madness-2. Just one of his 66" monster tires contains over 1800 vertices. That's 7200 vertices just for tires!

Don't forget to check out LordCap's original 3D tires

http://legwon.biz/mtm2/wheel2.htm

First ever made for any game (that I ever saw).

Wow, thanks guys!

Don't I say exactly that same thing with every thank-you note?

[ edit ] I took a look at your BF4 truck, Rep, and found that with slight modifications to the more stock area of the tire, it would be just about perfect.
