Yeah, I know mtm2 doesn't support the mdl format, but I will convert it. TRI has a nice STLITE.BIN, as we know, but you can see right through it and transparency sometimes hides things.

Of course, it is 1,317 vertices, which I will have to tone way down, but here's the new, improved stlite:

What do you think?

Looks like a sweet mtm2 style starting gate. You could make it three Did u even make the red/green lights part work?

I just revised the model and now it can switch from red to green. It is handled by c-script, of course, but I will convert it over soon, with animated textures or something.

It also has a texture now.

By the way, I guess I don't really know what you meant by "you could make it three." Could you explain what that meant? :)

I'm guessing you modeled all the angle brackets and such so that's why the vert count is high? Is it easy to convert, if yes, maybe try and merge the verts to see how low it can go just the way it is.

Also, it would be easy to fix the mtm2 light. Hmm, maybe we should add it to the fix pod.

>>fix mtm2 light

I already tried. BINEdit doesn't recognize the faces for the lights, so it changes them to MTM2 shiny format, which causes them to be shaded instead of "glowing." Maybe BE should have a new face type added for that purpose - something like "0x## Glowing."

>>angle brackets

Yep, did it all with rods. But some of the longer ones I just made long, instead of short sections to eat up vertices. Also, I tried to merge some of the verts, but I didn't get too far.

I think I could convert it over.

To be quite honest I never liked the MTM2 start light. I'd rather see it a leaner, less bulky structure.

Well, this one is a lot less bulky, so it might be a little better.

this one would be cute for mtm2.1 or for mfr but it does lag i'd imagine, Maybe you could research some real start/finish gates used in motocross etc.
I dont know why i said "you could make it three" i think i was starting to say somthing else and decided not to and forgot to delete it lol. disregard.

The red/green could be done in a hex editor i'd imagine.
