Now here's an interesting question. Were there any patches for mtm1? If yes, what ones?

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/deskapps/games/public/monster/

Anything missing from there?

A very nice FTP site. Thanks for that link. I sorted the files by date to make a little more sense of it, so here is my take:

File: mtmtrial.exe 11943 KB 8/15/1996 12:00:00 AM
The very file that got me hooked on this game. I ran the trial for a few months before buying the game.

File: index.txt 1 KB 8/19/1996 12:00:00 AM
An obligatory caution for people poking around in FTP directories. :)

File: Crazy8.EXE 735 KB 12/20/1996 12:00:00 AM
File: snowy.EXE 830 KB 12/20/1996 12:00:00 AM
File: sierra.EXE 1045 KB 2/18/1997 12:00:00 AM
Ah, the TRI add on tracks. Sierra logging is one of the best tracks ever. The .exe extracts the .pod file and adds the track to your pod.ini file. (The original install of the game had no pod.ini file, but these tracks created it or added on to it for you.)

You asked if anything was missing, and yes, one of the TRI tracks is missing, King Of The Hill.

File: mtmpatch.exe 1056 KB 1/15/1997 12:00:00 AM
This is the only MTM1 patch.

File: README.TXT 1 KB 1/22/1997 12:00:00 AM
File: DirectX3.exe 6221 KB 1/22/1997 12:00:00 AM
File: dxcheck.EXE 115 KB 1/22/1997 12:00:00 AM
A DirectX upgrade, required for the MTM patch. Remember when every game you installed included a different version of DirectX?

File: challenge.EPS 3702 KB 6/6/1997 12:00:00 AM
File: MTMlogo.EPS 5428 KB 6/6/1997 12:00:00 AM
File: Laguna.FH5 42 KB 6/9/1997 12:00:00 AM
A couple of pictures, not sure what the FH5 file is.

File: MtM2trial.EXE 18059 KB 5/8/1998 12:00:00 AM
File: mtm2pat.EXE 909 KB 11/11/1998 12:00:00 AM

MTM2 trial and patch.

Thanks.

During the sets project we found Sierra had two file dates and both were slightly different sizes. Rather than choose one over the other, we listed both. However, what we've done is unpack the installer and just zipped up the contents. It's still complete but today the exe seems unnecessary. Once I get some time, I'll have to run them to see if there's a detectable difference.

King of the hill is listed by David Glasscock, so that might have been a TRI addon as opposed to an MS addon. Maybe we should list it as TRI too for ease of searching.

Searching on "tri" however doesn't yield the cleanest results. I'll have to figure a way to get only tri tracks.

A bit of nostaglia here... which is how I found the above link.
