Remember Reality Racing? Variety Racing? Yep, I changed the name and this game is cool!

Yep. I've also got a temporary download page set up for you so you won't have to get a "forbidden" error.

The Racing World demo << link

It's a "slalom" (a term meaning "zig-zag") track through a high-detail highway. Sorry, there's no traffic. Try to reach the end by hitting all the checkpoints.

Keep in mind that, although some of you may not like this kind of track, this game will have many more types of races. And for some of you, there'll be cops, too.

Also, please don't comment on having no engine sound. That is still to come.

What do you think of it?

Something made me think that none of the links ever posted for any of Mat-Allum's games would work. I just had a gut feeling that there would not be any working download of game version.

What happened to the Beta-testing stage? Did you beta it before releasing it?

This demo is sort of a beta-test.

That's geocities for you. They only allow a small amount of bandwidth per hour.

Usually if you wait an hour or two and try again, you can get through (unless it's a site that is getting a lot of visitors).

P..S...I just tried shortly after midnight west-coast time and I got through...Downloading as I type this (3.2 meg file).

-----------------------------------------------------

Looks like an interesting start. I can't wait for your first full circuit.

Any other views, like from inside the car?

.

Thanks for trying out the download!

So far, there are the following views:

Near camera
Far camera (default)
TV Camera (not implemented yet)
Newton Camera (mouse wheel to zoom, right mouse and drag to change camera angle)
User Camera (mouse move to look around, WSAD to move.)

To change the view, press V.

The in-car view is yet to come.

Wow, that's very nice Mat-Allum. :) Reminds me a lot of TrackMania. Cool, can't wait to see the updates.

And you guys will probably be very happy to know that in the next release, the game will have engine sound!

I just finished the code to utilize that. Can't believe that simple engine sound could be so hard to implement. No matter.

Because if I post a link that doesn't work on four different forums, a lot of people are going to get very mad.

I'm still working on the next game.

"Window" view? Do you mean an in-the-car view? Yes!

I recommend for your next release that you first just post it here in the BETA section only, for us to test it for you. It could save you much embarressment in the future and we'd be more than happy to test 'em for you.

Any more comments/suggestions? Other than engine sound?
