This isn't looking good, guys. Last night everything was fine. This morning, everything is gone. I cannot access ANYTHING that was on the server. I can't even log in. What does this mean? I'm guessing they deleted my account.

As you may know, I've been 'bending' the rules on that server for about a year or so now. Every page on that server is supposed to have their banners on it, and I wasn't supposed to host any other sites. Well, I hosted the entire Team SLO site, All the track downloads, Road Rage, and my new Billiards Review site which I finally finished up last night. Either I was taking up to much space, had too much traffic, or they were sick of me not following the rules. I'm not really sure, since I was never contacted.

So, what now? I plan on getting everything set up on my own server today or tommorrow hopefully. The good news: No Rules. The bad: I'm not sure if I will be able to host other sites or not.

Stay tuned.

>>on the subject of sites gone?

Sorry about that. F-350 contacted me about some server reconfigurations (confirmed 8:30 last night) and I hadn't gotten to the link updates yet. But I have now. Front page and main menu are pointing to the correct location.

>>Road Rage

Sorry to hear, Obe. I wondered how long it would be after they deleted the mtmg tracks and models and your own track page. All in all, I think things went fairly well. But after N8's pics got the boot I figured it couldn't be long. The forum is a big loss too. I don't know if there's anything I can do, but if you need a hand, just give a shout. Temporary solutions are always available, and permanent ideas are open to discussion, and tech issues are limited only by my feeble brain...

Good suggestion Winterkill.

And yeah, after N8's imup got the boot i also figured it wouldn't take long until something bad happens Image

that's truely a bummer Obe, you'd think these people would at least have the decency to send you an e instead of just wiping the whole place clean without a word....

let me know if I can help in any way...

Hey Phin, thanks alot man for helping out Team SLO after Road Rage went under.

You just really don't appreciate what you have until it's gone.

Thanks again Phin.

No problem, Scat. For all the support SLO gives around here, to the mtmg and to the mtm2 community in general, it was the least I could do.

Gone but not forgotten, check out the current stats!
http://phoenixlogs.telefragged.com/roadrage.sports-gaming.com/

...and if you have forgotten, there's always the archive.

edit: I notice that Road Rage averaged eight gigabytes of transfers per month for the last four months of it's existence - pretty good for free hosting gig, and even though it's eight months dead now it still gets hundreds of visits a month.

If I "bent the rules" at Topcities.com, then they'd delete my site without informing me...I believe it was in the agreement.

I really experienced the 'pucker-factor' when I first uploaded my scrapyard there, then discovered that my page artwork was covering their banner on ALL the pages!

I was worried that they would drop the site before I could modify the pages......Fortunately, I was successful...it's still there....J
