No, not MTM3, MS owns the madness name, it's called 4x4.

But that's right, TRI has a new off-road driving simm called 4x4. But as far as I'm concerned, it's MTM3!
I don't have a copy yet, and don't know if I'll be beta testing, but I did get the *beep* straight from the horses mouth:

> 1. Will you be able to add tracks and trucks to the game?

Yes.

> 2. Will it be the same .pod format as mtm2?

Not exactly the same.

> 3. Would already made .pod's for MTM2 load straight in?

Yes.

> 4. Will it come with it's own editor for making add-on's?

Yes. You will love the new editor. :-)

> 5. Is the tentative release date this summer?

All I will say is that you will see it in 2000.

>..it will be nice to have an even better rendering engine and graphics capabilities to explore.

You will love the new graphics engine. :-)

> But having to deal with the all the cheating now going on in MTM2, I would really like to help you guys plug those security holes and give my input on what us racers like and don't like.

We are working on the cheating bit. Let us know of all the security holes
that you are aware of in case we have overlooked any.

There you have it guys.
1st hand information from TRI.
I guess I'd better get started on my KC's 4x4 Place ;-}

There is a link to the promo page and more info on my front page. http://vales.com/mtm

I think the graphics look pretty good, although I hope it won't cause framerate problems.

Let's be honest, MTM 1&2 would've both sucked if it weren't for the ability to create your own tracks. The stock ones would've gotten boring real fast.

I'm sorry it won't be coming out under the MTM name, but maybe it'll be promoted better because of it (no hicks yellin' Yeehaw all the time.)

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Looks like the closest thing to MTM3 we are likely to see. If MTM2 pods work with it, then that is what 'extends' the game. I think TRI are the only ones who could do that, unless they let someone else use their Photex game engine. Last I had read on TRIs homepage, they were working on 'two' racing sims, anyone know what the other might be?
