I have never tried a Mac in my life, so I don't know how it works, and those "I'm a Mac, I'm a PC" ads are so lame. Thank god Apple inc. doesn't waste time here in Latin America. There is a lot of HP, Packard Bell and Intel ads here tho
Here, you can't see any macs around, I haven't seen one since 2000, when I brought my first PC, I saw tons of colorful iMacs all around on the store, no one was really interested tho, since they were more expensive than PCs and no one knew how to use a Mac then.
Macs here are pretty unpopular, they have an excellent image, but no one has a Mac, and no one would dare to install Mac OS X on a PC.
Of course, if you are newbie and you don't know anything about computers, it makes you think that Macs are really, really better after watching the "I'm a Mac" ad.
But after watching this video... :

the only thing that you can find here is PCs, PCs and more PCs, most of em with Windows XP UE. This, because PC are cheaper here, and you can find any piece of hardware for PC anywhere. Some new PCs had
Windows XP Starter Edition, ultra-lame cheaper version of Windows made for "developing countries/economies" designed for "Low-end" computers. (Although I was bundled with every single PC here, even if you had a quad core, many manufacturers bought this OS to make Desktop computers more cheap) Microsoft thought "our" computers are all lame and slow cuz we're Latin Americans, so we needed a OS cheap and fast so everyone could buy it. It can only run 3 programs at time, "Windows XP for poor people" (although you couldn't buy it anywhere) My bro had that one. Completely annoying.
And most of the emo kids and scene kids here just want a computer to download music, talk in Messenger and have a "Fotolog". So they wouldn't care if their OS can't open more than 3 programs. (LimeWire, Internet Explorer and Live Messenger) lol
edit: here's a very informative page lol
