where have I been?

last night shortly after playing Alices Restaurant on the local station here Jim Ladd put on a live version of Red House I'd never heard before, I thought it was a rendition by SRV I'd not heard before but it was by the band Indigenous... if you are a fan of blues powered rock to any degree I highly recommend giving these guys a listen, the guitarist Mato Nanji is simply phenomenal.

Arlo or Woody? lol

these guys have an mp3 of red house at their site and I just grabbed it but the sound quality is bad and choppy and realy lacks the clairity to appreciate, it was also cut by about 7 minutes.. but it'll give you an idea of the style.

Finaly got my hands on a copy of Indigenous's live at pachyderm studio cd, these guys are great and Mato Nanji is one gifted strat guitarist, no doubt about it... only one problem tho, right after that I blew the dust off my SRV live at Montreux cd, >maybe it's just me but that man was simply unreal, and still is head and shoulders above the rest, before or after... imo

Hey Mr. Malibu350, you have excellent taste. About a year ago or more I tuned into <a href=http://www.pbs.org/klru/austin/artists/program32.html>"Austin City Limits"</a> and saw an amazing group, I stayed tuned until the end to find out who it was, it was Indigenous. At that time I searched online for some info but found very little, didn't see their website then, and I haven't heard anything else from then until now. When I saw your topic title I grinned and thought I might well know what was inside. ;-)

I'd recommend "Eagle Heart" (#10) from their MP3 page - mellow bluesy stuff similar to Hendrix or Vaughn.

Don't you hate when people in a business don't know or don't stock things you'd think their business warrants? A friend asked me to pick up an album by a band called stabillo boss. Who? Yea, anyway, the store didn't even have them in their files, let alone on the shelf. So earlier this week I thought I'd check out Indigenous. I found a couple versions of red house on kazaa but figured it was time to get good copies. But what do I find? Sorry mate, that's a special order (which translates into prepay kiss your money good bye). So instead I thought I'd replace a well-worn piece of vinyl with a cd. Naturally, they didn't have it but I found an adequate substitute.

Not what I was after but no complaint either... 'specially since I picked up a filmore performance too.

this is a very interesting 12 min mtm1 rally track made by a guy with a generous sence of humor... my latest discovery, what's it called?

Some time in 2000 I was sifting through a lot of MTM1 tracks, and that long one (which must be it) was a stand out, full of teammate references and things (?). I'm looking at the folders it should be in but I can't spot it, hehe. If it's the one, it's a doozy, but I won't guess at the name, though I'm sure the answer is in front of my nose. :o)

on this date in history, March 31st 1967 Jimi Hendrix lit his fist guitar on fire at a show in england.
