I found several programs that Use Bin files , saving games ect.

bin is a data file, i believe. they can be found several places. i even noticed on several ps2 games, i found 1 bin file in each of them. for example, there was one in Twisted Metal Black with a name along the lines of "zzzdummy.bin". they arent models though.

BMP means Bitmap file - it's a specific file format
BIN means binary - it just means that it's not a text file
a bmp file is also a binary file, it's not text.
So basically when somebody is coming up with a file format if they are too lazy to come up with a 3 letter name for the format they just call it a bin file.
none of the other bin files you find for any other games will be even close to related to our mtm2 bin files
unless they are from tri maybe.
so yea.

The only other program I know of that may use similar BIN files is FLY! (another TRI product).

yea dn 4x4 evo uses bins for somethings ans i believe the name of the other game i know of is hellbender.

EVO1 and EVO2 use .SMF models for trucks....I believe bins will work on EVO1 tracks though (not sure about EVO2).

bins will work on evo1 tracks, but if you wanna use them in a new track, you will have to copy them from another track converted from mtm2 then paste them into your track. either that, or place a dummy in the track, then replace it when the bin model in the sit text file. some bin models were even used for trucks.

unfortunetly, they wont work for evo2. it isnt that hard to convert them though. when i converted Scrapyard Run, i managed to find my own process from going through evo1 and evo2 editors, of getting the track to look the same as on mtm2.
