One of the first ideas mentioned about this dern project was that there would be high and low vert options available. For those who keep complaining about 3D tread, if it doesnt suit you, fine! There will probably 5 sets of wheels to choose from, because some people like all black, some like goodyear text spinning, some like 3D rims, some like 3D tread, some like taller rims, deep rims, shallow rims... yeah, no matter what, there will be someone who isn't pleased. Well, maybe we'll up the choices... maybe we'll have 10 sets to choose from. It'll take a little planning but it can be done.

And it's not that I want to please everyone... I just want people to quit complaining. I mean, instead of pointing at things you dont like, try pointing people in the direction of things you DO like. Just post a pic of wheels you'd rather see, or tread patterns you like or rims or whatever. Give us a download or link to where we can get the stuff you want. I mean, what do you expect us to do? Go edit wheels, then come back and say "How about these; Are these good enough??"

And again - that's what I mean about people helping out with this project. How hard is it to do 15 minutes of R&R on wheel design? Those who are complaining should know what would be most popular, so collecting 5 or 10 links and a few notes on what wheels would be could be should be... and there you've made a huge difference. Not only that, but you'd have given me some model work to do.

I love wheels... those are the most active part in the whole game. turning and spinning and climbing... That's why I love 3D tread because that is an extension of the wheel. It's like fingers - an extension of the hand, and of the arm. Artistically speaking, I can't point at someone or shake a fist or flip them the bird with hand using textured fingers. :P

Also, for those not knowing, we're cutting every corner possible on stocktrucks to keep framerates up for rumblers. The trucks have loads of verts, but very few textures. 5 textures for the entire truck, including axles and wheels. The filesize is actually smaller than the regular MTM2 truck2.pod! So as discussed recently, we're not too thrilled that we have to redo the stock trucks at all, but for those who rumble, the stock trucks get more viewing time than any other 100 trucks combined. That's why they must be done. And they have to be done in a way that allows framerates fast enough to drive in the presence of at least 3 other trucks.

So please cut people some slack about the low vert 3D tread and the inaccuracies of what's been presented so far. They're only 1st drafts to begin with, anyway. we have to get something basic completed first, run testing sessions to check framerate, figure out what all is necessary to include so we can unmount Truck2.pod. We'll undoubtedly go with more than a few changes between now and final, so expect changes to axles, wheels, frame, etc. The bodies are about the only shape that looks 'finished' lol

Thanks for your time, and lets see some wheel submissions ok? And hurry it up cuzz San Andreas will be out soon ! LOL

I am amazed that this thread has had no replies and yet many appear to be reading it.

I hope that those it applies to are thinking about what is required for constructiveness to help these wonderful track and truck makers.

I for one applaud these people who make our online racing time fun. I read a lot of sites and spoken to many of the track and truck makers, lets never forget that a little thanks sometimes goes a long way.
