Hi everyone,
Long time no see! Very happy to see there are still some familiar faces keeping things alive around here. Thanks to you all!
With a certain DLC for my favorite modern game coming out in June, I got the urge to make a track for one of my favorite games of old that is loosely based on the setting of the original game.
The first step of course is making custom textures (because it's fun!). Following ObeOne's beautiful guide on MTMG, I ran into issues pasting my template into Traxx from Gimp. Traxx wouldn't accept the format of my copied image no matter what I tried. Moving to SLICE60, the program wouldn't accept the format of my tga file. One more utility I found by Fuzzy from 4x4evoR called nice slice didn't quite make the texures seamless in the way I needed.
I gave up on the utilities and decided to remind myself how to cut the textures out by hand! I then used Dummiesman's tool triraw to convert from png to raw, and in the end that turned out to be a good approach for me! If you are interested in how to make and cut out textures by hand, I made a long video recounting my adventure here:
