I just got Windows XP traxx seems to work ok but cant extract models and art. The model's bin file is there but not the bin info file? Got any ideas?
I tryed changing the properties of Traxx exe to run in 98 nmode and tryed 95 mode also. Niether of those seemed to help.

The .info file is made by Binedit (used to record face and vertex info), is used only by Binedit and is never included in a pod, and even if it was Traxx would only extract RAW, ACT and BIN files anyway (POD specific utilities will extract everything). So as far as that goes, nothing is wrong.

Hmm thx Winter Kill still some thing not right cause binedit wont open the files i just extracted . I thot it was cause of the missing info file. Binedit will open models that i copyed over from old hard drive but not the ones i have just extracted. Never had this prob before with reloads of 98 so thot was an xp thing?
I did find new version of binedit at Malibu's site but that doesnt fix prob iam having.

A few notes. Binedit does not need .info files to open a bin. Are you getting a specific message when binedit refuses to cooperate? Also, you might want to check the the directory preferences for traxx and binedit are the same. And last but not least, make sure you uncheck 'hide file extensions for known file types' in windows folder options. That should get you going, but if not post back. There is no problem with winXP, traxx and binedit, so it should just be a matter of tracing our steps until we find the hold up.

Hmm well thx Phineus I went back double checked pref's seem to be ok. was lookin at traxx-model folder the file for what i extracted is there but binedit not seeing them as bin file. The newly extracted files dont have bin at end of file name? Guess i can allways type it on but never had to that before?

Yep, there's your problem.

This page describes the problem, but you can skip it and go right to the fix.

Seriously, now, I would be very surprised to learn if it was anything else but this.

P.S. Once you do this, you'll have to re-extract the models and art from the track. This will prevent the problem from happening again; it cannot put extentions back onto files that are already damaged.
