Here's my review:
I'll break the track down into different aspects which I feel are integral to a great drag track, rating them from 1 (terrible) to 10 (perfect)...
TEXTURES-9.5...Slick always has unique and/or accurate textures, and this track is no exception...they look nice and smooth and are very close to how the real dirt looked at the event. Maybe a bit on the dark side, but it's hard to get the perfect color on a game that wasn't meant for a whole lot of them Image. The texture alignment was messed up just a tad (few textures outta place)...that's the only reason this score isn't .5 higher.
MODELS-7...Some of Slick's finest are showcased here, from the white ice cream truck to his beautiful double-jump ramps...however, some of the ho-hummers make an appearance too...the stock red and yellow cars are a bit off compared to the real ones. It would have been nice to have some realistic models as ramps instead of using terrain racing-wise.
MODEL RAMPS-9...For the most part, these were up to replica-standard. A few minor adjustments to the cars and quad hills would have been nice, but other than that I have no complaints. The normal sky-wheelies and air follow; it's nothing unrealistic, which is good for a replica.
LAYOUT-6...some key elements are missing in action here, with some of the vans even being the wrong color for the freestyle version (ugh). For the most part it was well done and accurate to the real thing...it wasn't what they put in there, it was what they forgot to put in there...no ramp leading up to the pyramid by the red cars like there was at the real event and the terrain ramps instead of real model ramps hurt this score. The parking lot could've used a bit of sprucing up, particularly the scoreboard area. On the stuff that they did do correctly, it was great...the huge jump in the middle in particular.
OVERALL DRAGGING EXPERIENCE-7...no driver check-in pictures...grr...pet peeve...anyway, the ramps were well done, but some omissions in the models department and a couple of goofs on the layout knock this score down a bit. It's one of the best replicas of the World Finals 1 to date, but it can be outdone. The exploding trailer in the middle makes for some freestyle fun, and the racing is fast and furious, just like the real one. Anyone looking for a good, fun track that won't lag like crap in multiplayer and still be fun to play around on will be in for a treat. If you're looking for a TOTALLY accurate, be-all-and-end-all replica of World Finals 1, then keep looking. I enjoyed it, but with a few fixes I would have enjoyed it even more.
TOTAL SCORE-38.5/50
