Two bizarre vehicles for the price of one! I was playing
around with BINedit and made a body loosely based on the
vehicles in the N64 game Extreme G. I wanted to see if I
could make a bike/truck thing for MTM2, but no way was
that gonna work, it just kept falling over, so in the
end I made it into a trike. I proudly showed my wierd
creation to some MTM colleagues, joked about it, chucked
it aside and went to bed. But it wouldn't go away, and
by morning I had already thought up two more variations
for it. Psykout and Freakin are the first two, released
as a twin-pack, and Outrager will be built sometime in
the future.
Psykout has the trike setup I first toyed with: one
wheel on the front, two on the back. It is a reasonably
stable platform, handles OK, but is prone to
flipping forwards if too much weight lands on the front
wheel. Freakin has a reversed trike setup: two wheels up
front and one on the back. This one is a real handful to
drive, and very exciting! During hard cornering the rear
wheel tends to try to slip out from under it (you'll see
what I mean), and it's only the front wheels that stop
it from tipping right over. Also it gets a bit
oversteery (once I did a full 360 degree spin coming out
of a corner and kept going!).
I named them Psykout and Freakin coz that's what they
do...
