What Things Do I need to Paint a truck?

The Basic Tools

by ZOtm_BigDOGGe

Start with repainting stock trucks...it's an easier way to begin learning truck-making...

1. WinPod,... Extracts the files from the pod (kind of like a zip file) into your Monster Truck Madness2 folder....the stock trucks are in truck2.pod.

2. FlyRawGui,... The textures (paint) is in a .RAW file format..I use this to convert them to bitmap (.BMP) files...

3. Repaint the textures using your favorite painting program....use MS_PAINT if you have to, though it's very limiting...much better proggys out there like PAINT SHOP PRO...save the textures under a new name (don't use the stock filenames)! ...here's a link to a copy of Paint Shop Pro 4 (non-expiring demo)

4. Convert back to .RAW files (same program as step #2).

5. Tell the truck model (.BIN file) to use your newly named textures instead of the stock ones by using MDMRE's TEXTURE REPLACER. (the Bin Texture Replacer may require these MDMRE support files).

6. load the new truck into TRACKED2 to examine it with the new paint, and to re-pod it..... That's a simplified way of putting it.... but it covers all the bases... (some methods are more complicated).....

7. Patience, Patience, and more Patience.

Good Luck...
