BINedit Menu Commands - The Vertex Menu

The Vertex menu gives you the commands that allow you to manipulate vertices.

Set Coordinates... [Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+V] - Brings up a window (shown below) that allows you to change the coordinates of the current vertex.

Add... - Add a new vertex. A dialog box (shown below) will prompt you for the coordinates. Don't worry if you don't get the coordinates right first time - you can just use Set Coordinates (above) to correct it.

Delete Current - Deletes the current vertex (if it is not used by any face).

Delete All Unused - Deletes all vertices that are not used by any face.

Merge close vertices - Sometimes you might have two or more vertices so close to each other that it would be more economical to just have one vertex in their place. This function brings up the following window, and allows you to merge vertices within a certain distance (in editor units) of one another that you specify.

Don't forget to use Delete All Unused to delete all the leftover vertices as a result of this operation.

Select All Vertices - Selects or "tags" all vertices on the current model. This can then be saved as a vertex group and used for translating the model around - see the Model menu and Groups menu pages for more information. Tagged vertices are visible in the 3D view as large dots centred on each vertex.

Deselect All Vertices - Deselects any selected vertices.

Jump to Vertex #... - Jumps directly to the vertex number you specify. You can jump to any number vertex including -1 (ie. no selected vertex).
